It works really well. It works using a base plate that fits behind your spare wheel, with mounting prong coming through the middle of the wheel. Once you have installed the bike rack and then added the ski rack it really is just one piece you have to turn, in order to un-mount or mount the entire rack. This is so much easier than mounting the rack on a roof rack as I had done previously. It looks great on the vehicle, and holds everything in place safely and securely (using the supplied locks).
